From
David Grossman’s best-selling novel, this much-honored film moves at an
unrelenting pace, filled with suspense and drama that sends viewers on a
riveting ride through the streets of Jerusalem.
Awkward 17-year-old Assaf must track down the owner of a lost labrador.
Following the dog, he begins to piece together the story of a girl named
Tamar.
One month earlier, Tamar, a gifted musician, went with her dog on a quest
into Jerusalem’s dark underworld, where she became trapped. Assaf, smitten
by this mysterious girl he has never met, feels he has no choice but to set
off running in Tamar’s footsteps.
The film highlights the distance between the two and their loneliness until
the narratives finally converge. For Tamar and Assaf, the experience is an
accelerated journey into adulthood, a test of courage and commitment, and a
story of self-discovery and first love.
